I am filing this rip off report because I was lied too outright and ripped off.
I moved from my apt in august and got my phone transferred with at&t, the woman I opke with said that I qualified for the long distance service plan and package plan they were offering costing a total amount of 49.06 a month I only had a basic phone, I ask her if this phone will be exactly that amount every month, she said yes,
I said okay. I got billed for long distance without my conesent when it was suppose to be for free or 9.00 per month my bill skyrocketed to 70 and this last bill was 73.73 ive called them for the last three months over this issue, this last call I put through has really made me think about not having them for phone service, the lady was rude and said we went in and changed your acct!!!: without your consent " because you no longer qualify for out long distance service, she said because you dont have a cell with us, and you dont have a dish with us, so we are authorized to make changed to your bill.
Leaving me with an outrageous balance of 73.73 this month "without my consent "" omg!!! I was furious, I said well when i pay this off and i decide to go with another phone company how much more are you going to charge me, she said well go ahead mrs * and we will talk to you then I understand that you are not happy with our our decision to change your plan behind your back but thats how it is and you are not getting our long distance service anymore beause you do not have our internet dish or our cell phones, nothing so we do have the right to change your bill.
I got a letter from them the other day saying welcome to the long distance package 25.52 dollars a month plus they changed my package plan. Ive been with them a long time now. But at this point, its almost like they are going to tell me or make me take their services, without my consent as well, this is not fair this was not the plan and this was never agreed upon with me. My bill was suppose to be 50.04 per month. Plus they charged me 1.00 per month to use their long distance plan on top of the 25.52 per month. And i may like to add this too. The bill is never the same amount they add to anything they can to get money and hurt their customers, they do not care about us, they even charged me behind my back long distance fees on top of the plan as well, this is unsatisfactory to me, i did tell them that i will be looking for other phone services please beware of these ppl they are liars and thieves hidden charges as well, when i first asked them about the bill. They tried to say that it was surcharge in my area and ferderal taxes. Of 18.00 in which it was not they told me call the congress man not them, i did exactly that!!! 3.00 is all was charged and it states that plainly on the bill. At this point if you dont have them dont get them. A cell phone is beter than this, or look at other companies to go with, thank you for reading my story I have no reason to lie
