Made an unauthorized deduction from my bank account when I disconnected

Without any kind of advance notification to me, Vonage auto-debited my bank account $96.28 immediately upon disconnection the day they found out that I had given Comcast the ability to transfer my number. The money taken out was the monthly fee that is due around the 20th of this month PLUS a $39.99 disconnection fee. They did not tell us, they just took it right out of the bank account with the auto withdrawal code that was used to pay our bill. My bill was not overdue!

Interestingly, I did not cancel Vonage, I was thinking of using them for a business account because I liked their tracking service. But now I would never trust them.

I understand that there are other Vonage caveats, so if you're thinking about Vonage, understand they will just take the money they believe you owe them right out of your account without warning you.

AGAIN: I advise everyone who is thinking about getting Vonage to demand a copy of their disconnection rules BEFORE they actually join Vonage. Read the fine lines, because this is where it can really create problems for you as it did us.

Our bank representative told us that they are well aware of this problem, they have had many complaints against Vonage. For some of you, $96.28 is not a lot of money, but even if it was $10.00 that was taken out of my account without warning, I would be equally as upset as I am now.
