Beware consumers!!! I'm not certain how it happened to myself, but a few weeks ago I checked my bank account online and found a charge for $42.70 for a replenishment fee from Alltel. I'm not a client of Alltel, nor have I ever shopped at any cellular phone services. Now, perhaps someone had used my card without permission, I'm not certain. There is now a 90 day investigation through my bank account and the Alltel finance team to resolve this matter. I find this matter very frustrating, as it's taken me 2-3 weeks to get my bank account back to where it was, and that's only in "temporary refunds" until, or even if, Alltel decides that this charge was fraudulent.
I'm not certain if this is a rare case, but I do want to let people know that this has happened to at least myself. If it happens that someone else had used my card without my authorization, then Alltel surely did not check to see if the name on the account matched the name on the card.
