Great PC A Little Pricey - Aurora 7500

I have been working on computers for nearly 20 years now. Every computer I've owned, included my first, I built by myself. For some reason, I really got hooked on the Alienware brand and thought "I have to have one"! What can I say, they're marketing department won me over. I finally, after years of debating with myself over the matter, broke down and bought myself an Alienware Aurora 7500 in December of 08. I was pleased to see that I was provided a link where I could check on the status of my order every step of the way (out of approximately 8 steps). When the package arrived, I felt like a child at Christmas. I loved the packaging (inside and out). I used the computer for about a week and then something I had never seen before happened. When I opened a picture file with the Windows Photo Gallery (the default image program for Windows Vista), the colors were wrong. Every picture had an orange tint to it. The thumbnails of the photos were correct, but the image in that program was wrong. Based on previous experiences with various other companies, I hesitated to call for support. Finally, I threw in the towel. I realized I was not going to be able to fix this issue on my own. When I called, I almost passed out when a human being answered the phone. Not only did he answer the phone, he was the support guy. He didn't have to transfer my call or put me in a queue of some sort. He just helped me. He spoke english and even understood what I was talking about. He remoted into my computer and fixed the problem quickly. I was impressed. After the repair, he kept me on the phone for a few minutes and just chatted as if we had known each other for a long time or something. It was too cool. Since then, I've never had any problems with this computer. Now my warranty is expired. My ONLY complaint about this computer is that after receiving it, I looked up the parts online and realized I could have built the same computer for about $400 less than what I paid for it through Alienware. Of course, I wouldn't have gotten their signature cool computer case (too cool), or their logo mousepad (does anyone use these any more), or their keyboard and mouse (both are horribly cheap devices). I can honestly say that this Alienware is everything I had hoped for and that their customer service is the best I've delt with in the tech industry. I can't give it a perfect smiley because of price, but if you don't know how to build your own computer, this is definately the way to go!
