I called this evening to get assistance with fixing a problem with my DVR, it has a dual tuner so I can record 2 shows at once. I was only able to watch one program and could not record on a seperate channel, which is the service I paid for.
While getting assistance, I was walked through several procedures to fix my problem, none of which did. The gentleman instructed me to do one last thing. Upon completion of that, my DVR resets, and then comes up "Searching for Satelite Signal (771)".
Once I inform him of what the screen says, he says "Crap, that was a mistake". Then he informs me I will have to schedule an appointment to get it fixed. He than tells me no one will be able to be out to my house until March 31st, 6 days away. Then to top the cake, I am told I will be charges $49.00 for the first hour, than an hourly rate following that. I will also be responsible for any new equipment that may need to be installed.
To give you an insight of where I am, let me give you a glimpse into my life at the moment. I am a police officer that was injured on the job. I had to under go surgery last week, and am stuck on bed rest for the next month. Now, I have no TV, and nothing to do for almost an entire week!
I have tried to cancel because of all of this. They are wanting to charge me $370.00 early termination, $49.00 appointment cancelation fee, $150. Satelite removal fee and $150.00 removal fee for my boxes that attach to my tv.
This is outrageous!
GO TO DISH NETWORK, same programming, lower monthly fee and better customer service. Stay away from direct tv!!
