I saw a Panasonic plasma in the weekly ad at a ridiculously low price so I called the store to see if they had any in stock. The very pleasant girl on the phone assured me that yes, they had five of that exact unit in stock. I borrowed a friend's truck and enlisted the help of another friend to help me move the thing and we headed right over.
The surly sales dude said, "Oh, no. We don't have any of those in stock." I said I just got off the phone not 30 minutes before -this was the middle of the day on a Thursday so there were about two shoppers in the store... I asked if the girl was just lying to me and he said, "maybe she oesn't know how to use the computer..."
He said they had a truck coming that day and there would definitely be four units on that truck. I gave him my number and he said he would call me when they came in.By the time he called me my friend's truck was no longer available... I decided to buy it online and pick it up the next day... BIG MISTAKE.
I ordered it online and printed my receipt. The next day I called the store just to make sure they were holding one for me and they told me they had no evidence of my order! Their computers had no record, but my receipt and my bank account showed the money was i9n their hands... Somewhere... They toled me if I wanted to take one home I could just pay again! WHAT?!
By this time I was so mad I called their 800 number and told them I wanted to cancel my order so I could take my money elsewhere. Again: BIG MISTAKE.
The woman at the 800 number was rude and flip when I said that so I asked when I would get my money back. She quipped "It's back right now." NOT. Five days later my money reappeared in my bank account. They had it for a total of 6 days and ruined my weekend. I will never step foot into an hhgregg again and believe me, you can't believe anything they tell you. They are professional liars.
