On Feb. 8 I was researching prices for a new Garmin nuvi 760 car GPS system. On the web I was directed to several sites, one of which was Closeout Genius.com which had a very low price of $189.99. This was approximately $50.00 below any other site.
I went ahead and ordered on line and immediatly got a confirmation e-mail stating the order # and statement that the order would processed in two business days.
I then realized that I hadn't noticed any physical address for the company so I called the 888 number listed to question where the item would be shipped from. I was connected to a sales Rep. And he confirmed the order number and before I could ask my question he immediately went into a list of all the add on items I would need to make the unit work properly ie: additional memory, map updates, extended warranty etc. Etc. All of these item's at a exhorberant price. I kept stating I was not interested and he kept going on and on.
After several minutes he finally said Ok and hung up on me! About an hour later I checked my E-Mail and there was a message from Closeout Genius stating that the Item I ordered was not in stock and was back ordered, 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. What a Rip-Off.
I then checked complaints and low and behold there was a whole bunch of people that experienced the same senerio as I had with this outfit. I am just waiting till tomorrow to call and cancel the order.
