Beware of Purchasing Mitsubishi Dlp TV's! What a scam to rip off consumer Braselton Murrietta North West Territories

My husband and I purchased a Mitsubishi 57" dlp tv from Linders Furniture in February. We were told it was the best tv on the market and it was on sale from 2600.00 to 1999.00. We bought the extended warranty and were told if we had any issues in the time frame of our warranty everything was covered. With the exception of trying to break the tv on purpose. The tv was delivered and we set our tv on a special timer that warmed up the lamp so it would give it a longer life.in January the bulb had gone out. We called Linders furniture and they told us it was still under the manufactures warranty and we needed to call them first for them to handle the replacement of the bulb. We contacted them and had our bulb replaced no problem.in June off 2007 our bulb goes out again we had just been moving into our new home and were not able to contact mitsubishi until July. We were extremely upset that it had only been 6 months since the bulb was replaced that it had gone out again. Meanwhile they didn't really want to replace the bulb for us and the fight began between trying to get this problem fixed between Linders furniture and Mitsubishi. Linders had told us that they do not replace bulbs and that it was the consumers responsibility despite the salseman telling us that they would replace the bulbs under the extra warranty. My husband had to get very nasty with Linders and climb the chain of command. Meanwhile I am still talking to Mitsubishi and finally they decide to take care of the lamp. I faxed the same paperwork I had previously faxed 6 months earlier to verify my date of purchase and model of tv. 5 faxes later, they apparently still can not read anything on the fax. I decided I would have to mail them a copy of this information. Suddenly the stupid lamp on the tv decides to work again so we did not follow up on the replacement of the bulb, although now I wish we had because now another 6 months later and the lamp is completely out again!!! This lamp costs 250.00 through Mitsubishi and conveniently only has a 90 day warranty on the replacement. I once again call Mitsubishi and explain our complete dissatisfaction with them and I am told that I must not be using this tv properly. I explained that we have the tv and all of our big electronics hooked up to surge protectors, we do not watch the tv all of the time and we had the special timer on the lamp to help it last longer. HE PROCEEDS TO TELL ME THAT THE REASON MY LAMP IS GOING OUT ALL OF THE TIME IS BECAUSE I AM NOT WATCHING ENOUGH TV!!! HELLO??? Something to do with the mercury in the lamp and if we don't watch it everyday longer than the 1-2 hours that I stated we usually watch it for. I have kids, 1-2 hours a day is even more than the daily recommended usage. He then said that we needed to have a technician come out and make sure that it was the lamp and not the tv. If it was the lamp they would give me a DISCOUNT on the lamp. This is a horrible product and come to find out from a good friend of mind that her and her husband got rid of theirs for the same reason and the same with 3 more of her friends. Apparently there is major issues with Mitsubishi dlp tvs and the consumer should not be stuck and out of luck with this product.
