My experience with Projector Lamp Center was unacceptable and consumers should not have to put up with this type of service and for the money they are spending.
I placed an order the Projector Lamp Center on December 13th to purchase a lamp for my 50 inch Panasonic Projection HDTV. The lamp model was TYLA 1000. I also selected the additional purchase of $22.95 for second day air. The total was $177.00. So my order was placed and expected delivery date was Dec 16th and that I would receive my tracking number via email when my order was shipped.
I waited a few days and my tracking number was not emailed to me so I contacted them through their IM on their web site. The costumer service rep stated that the ship date has moved back to December 18th by the outside vendor they used. I replied that I paid for 2nd day air and wouldn't have done so if I knew I would have had to wait anyway.
Once again I waited. Decemeber 18th came and no tracking number. I contacted them now for the second time and they said they have moved the ship date back to the 26th of December. I was upset at this point and asked the what their refund policy was. They will grant you a full refund if the product hasn't been shipped. The kicker was you have to wait 30 days for them for even print a check to send. So I decided to wait again.
Decemeber 26th came and still no tracking number via email. However I contact sales that day and customer service was off for the holidays and would be back until the 29th. I contacted them the 29th and they said my order has once again for the third time has moved back another two weeks.
Now fed up with the situation I asked for a full refund. They said a refund will be sent in the form of a check after thirty days. I asked if they could credit my bank account and they stated that's not how they work.
So I am out $177.00 and still needed a lamp. I recommend ordering from DLP out of California. I ordered the same lamp for $169.00 and it shipped the same day and I received it two days later. I have read another complaint on this web site about Projector Lamp Center. I hope other consumers read these articles and do not order from them. I will update my report after thirty days to let consumers know about my refund.
