Buy.com will not accept returns

I purchased an item, a fingerprint reader, for my mother for Christmas of 2008. I purchased it in November, I think on the 11th. I figured this would be a great gift since she wanted it. A thought NEVER crossed my mind that I would have to test a product to see if it works and destroy a blister pack and open the reader and make it look used and then give it as a Christmas Gift. I am not into opening other gifts. So anyway I installed the soft and everything by the book on her Vista Computer with IE7. Well they don't tell you at buy.com that this product isn't compatible with Windows Vista and/or Internet Explorer 7.

So I contact them, buy.com, and tell them that the product isn't compatible with anything. Which Vista WAS listed on the site as one that it works with. I just now went there and Vista has been removed from the OS list. So to the point.

I purchased this for a gift in middle Novermber as a Christmas Gift. I gave it as the gift.installed everything as required. Doesn't work with Vista. Contacted buy.com. They said it was past the 14 days for return so they will not accept it. That is how they put it too. We will not accept the return. So now I am stuck with a $40 item that will not work. Oh and get this, to get help from Microsoft they want $35 for support to help you. LOL I don't think so.

Anyway. That is my tiff with them. I will never purchase anything from BUY.com ever again. I don't care if my life depends on it. They can go straight to... Well you know.
