Read this before purchasing anything from Cambridge. I recently tried to order a sigma 105 lens and tamrac camera bag off the internet for what I thought was an awesome price. Remember what your parents told you... If something looks to good to be true, it probably is. Well believe Mom and Dad! I have had nothing but positive experiences with on line shopping... Until now.
After ordering the lens, the company called me back the next day to inform me that I could order the non-gray market lens for only 30 dollars more. I thought I was ordering the USA version in the first place. Anyway, the price was still about $10 cheaper than the other guys so I figured no big deal and upgraded. I also ordered a tamrac camera bag at the same time for a great price. So far, still everything was good. I was told the items were in stock and would ship right away.
A week went by and no merchandise. My credit card was billed on the same day of the order, So I started calling. After getting through a myriad of excuses including numerous "our computers are down" and getting someone who would not cut me off before I could ask a second question, I was finally told last Wednesday that "it would ship today". Well, after two days I never received a tracking number so I called again. "Snowstorm, everyone went home, can't answer any questions... Click". Ok. Now I decide to do a little research on this company (should have done this first!!!) This customer service appears to be a trend for this company.
So I called today to get a tracking number. Their reply, "till waiting for the lens to come in". Who knows what the truth is. Anyway, I cancelled the order. Called my credit card company and disputed the charge. Please, save yourself the same aggravation I went through. Spend the little extra money and stay with someone reputable!!
