I like DirecTV service (although it NEVER works when it rains like they claim on their commercials it will), I pay my bills way ahead of time every single time, so when I moved and had a new install done I thought the company would consider me a valued customer. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The installer from Bluegrass Satellite in Bloomington, IL came out to my house in El Paso and drilled from the inside of my living room to the outside.
Unfortunately they didn't take into account that the outside is CEDAR SIDING which caused the wood to crack and splinter leaving an unsightly exposed area on the outside of my house. They also then put the Coaxial cable over a basement window which is a fire hazard. After the installer left the service did not work, they then 2 days later sent out a second installer. During the install he was constantly swearing and to be honest was just plain rude. He then STOLE a bag full of gardening tools my wife and I had just bought from Menards (Sure I should have been keeping a better eye on him, but still). They then tried to charge us a $75 service call (With the move package we had 3 months of free service calls included). I had to have DirecTV remove the charge directly.
I eventually filed a theft report via DirecTV which didn't even lead to an apology.in fact someone called a few days later to ask if I was impressed with the Install! As if they didn't even have the complaint actually on file to show that I was pissed off and not remotely impressed, more like disgusted!
Next I filed with Directech (Again that's Bluegrass Satellite in Bloomington, IL) a Damage report. They told me to get a contractor to come out to my house which I took off work time to do. The contractor quotes $300 in damage. However before I even had time to send in the quote I received a form letter stating that I had signed a completion of work form.
Funny part is I was suppose to initial next to each completed area, I never even saw that form and there was no initials on the form they sent to prove I signed it, just a line drawn through each area their form told me to initial and an "X" in the "Work was completed Properly" section, or whatever they called it.
I spoke to Vicky at [email protected] and she told me to get the contractor out, even though they were already in the process of denying the claim before I had even finished filing it completely!
To say the least Bluegrass Satellite, DirecTech USA, and DirecTV don't take theft or personal property damage even half seriously.
I'm taking this one to court and I've filed a Better Business Bureau Report, I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
