I was juss pulling into my apartment complex when 2 guys came around the corner yelling, "hey ask that dude." so i stopped and one got out the car, came over to me, shook my hand and said man its your lucky day.
He said weve been driving all around here and we got like 20 mins to get back to work. He said our boss over stocked our truck and if we take it back to him all were gunna get is a pat on the back and thats it. So i was like well what are u gunna do with them. He said these speakers are the best, he even compared them to bose saying theres bose and then theres these and they are way louder. Hes like you can either buy them and keep them or just put them on ebay and make more money than us, hes like we are just running late and we might as well sell them. He said look at the price, it has a MSRP of $4,199 right on the box. Then he showed me a magazine with the system in it. I thought forsure these were legit speakers. He said we'll give them to you for $800. They caught me off guard and i wasnt even thinking. I was figuring well man im getting these speakers like 75% off.
I was like even if i buy these ill be able to put them on ebay and make like $1200. So i said deal. He like well do u care if i come with you to the bank. I said sure. He rode with me and even came in the bank with me waiting for my money. I came out the bank with $800 and said here you go, the other guy had the recipts and the 3 year warrenty they promised me.
Thats last i ever saw them. I mean the guy was shaking the whole time but i never put two and two together, i thought he was just shaking becuase of the fact he was rushed for time. Trust me after a whole day of thinking about it, these guys arent that slick. But within 30 minutes of of thier sale scam, they are seriously the best ive ever seen.
Of course i got online like an hour later searched Dream Audio Works, which was the name on the side of the black SUV trailblazer. First thing that comes up is report scam, then i relized i have just gott taken for $800.
I was so mad becuase i didnt even think of bargaining down the price i just took they price they wanted. All i was thinking about was putting it on ebay and earning a big profit.
Eeven while i was getting the money i had my friend look up the model number on the box and he went to the website and there it was GENESIS G-508. They had a website and everything and there was the price along with like 15 other models they sold. All price listed anywhere from $1500- $6000. But the website it def. Fake. So we never saw the scam at all. I felt like such an idiot becuase this scam is all over the internet and i never saw it.
