Efore placing an order for particular TV, i contacted the company to verify that they have the item in stock. Since they are close by, i asked if i can come to the store and pick the order. They so no because it comes from Seattle. I placed an online order and received a minute later a phone call to confirm my order. Here cames the scam...
The rep asked if i am aware that iordered a TV that is coming without warrantee? Also it is an older 2007 model and if i add $199 ithey can switch the order to 2008 model that also carries warrantee. I agreed to the "upgrade". 2 days later when i check the delivery status on line, i found out that they are shipping different model (retailed $1,000 less) i called the company and said that they have a mistake, they said NO, and that i actually agreed to change the model...
When i asked them if they can still ship the original order they say that now they need to charge me "shipping charges" and "10% restocking fees", its needless to say that i did not receive any marchandise from them...
It seems to me that this is a carfully crafted scam that they are runing on customers. They do not have the the marchandise and just trying to make a leaving by swindeling customers from imaginery "shipping & restocking" fees. I am considering to report this activity to the DA.
