I ordered a Lexar Pro Duo Memory card from J&R and during the order I told them that I would not be giving my physical address and that they just need to mail the item to my po box.
I also mentioned that I wanted the paperwork for the Lexar Rebate which was for $17. I made a big stink over the phone when they balked at mailing the item to my po box. Finally the customer service person with some prodding did the correct thing and mailed the darned thing to my po box. If they hadn't I would have never ordered the item and would have gone to a competitor.
They forgot or neglected to send the Lexar rebate paperwork. I sent an email requesting the item and low and behold the paperwork states that they won't send the rebate check to a po box.
I emailed the customer service person back and informed them that had I known about the po box restriction on the rebate, I would have NEVER ever ordered the item.
The daft customer service person contacted lexar and said that if I provided my residential address that they'd send it to my po box.
I informed the customer service person that I would not be given up my residential address and the fact that Lexar would have two address (my po box and my residential) would be a great excuse for the check somehow getting lost in the mail.
Sensing we were at an impasse, I asked for a $17 store credit because I shouldn't lose out just because those daft customer service people don't make the rebate policies known in advance (especially when a customer is doing a mail order and refuses to provide a residential address at the time of placing the order).
They refused. I asked to speak with a manager and the supervisor whom I was dealing with simply ignored that request.
J&R has lousy customer service and deceive their customers just to make a quick buck.
J&R has lost me as a customer forever. Those cheap incompetent morons. Their incompetence has cost me $17. I am seriously considering suing those beeeeyotches just on principle alone.
I was denied the opportunity to make an informed purchasing decision. I urge anyone that reads this to boycott J&R and get your electronics elsewhere.
They are a bunch of greedy thieves. My next stop and filing a case with the better business bureau. I will not let those thieves get away with their blatant thievery.
