I placed an order for an air bed on Skymall.com on 4/15/08.
Item was $199.00 plus shipping.
Ad shows expected delivery in 14 days. I had company coming in about 2 weeks.
By day 15, item does not show as shipped, I called and was told it is 14 business days, THAT IS NOT WHAT THE AD SAYS... But ok, I mark that day on my calendar and wait.
14 Business days is 5/5/08.By 5/8/08 still no shipment, still nothing.
I called the morning of 5/8/08 (around 10:00 am EST). Was informed order has not shipped. I asked to cancel. For 2 reasons, 1: now it is over 3 weeks and still no air mattress company is gone and I'm furious 2: I found the EXACT same item on Amazon for $130 free shipping... informed them of this. Was told order can be cancelled.
Next morning I have an email that my Skymall order has shipped. Track UPS package and find that it shipped at 8:30PM on 5/8/08. About 10 hours after I asked for this order to be cancelled and more than 3 weeks after I placed the order.
Package was received back at sender's location on 5/16/08. I called on 5/19/08 and asked about my refund. Was told that it would be issued within 3 business days. Called back today 5/27/08 same story... Still no refund.
My credit card company won't let me dispute the charge on my bill until 30 days after the returned item was received.
I will continue to follow up with Skymall at least once a week until I can do the credit card dispute.
Just beware that if you order from this company they feel ABSOULTELY no obligation to do the right thing.
