Sprint Too Bad, your screwed

So I recently added a plan change to my sprint cellular phone package. It was for unlimited text messaging that cost $15.00 per month. I did this because recently my text messaging with me and my partner have gone up so I decided to arrange this on the new plan. I did this online when I paid my bill a week before the new post bill ending date. I knew to expect to pay for the amount of text messages I used without the plan change, but when I recieved my bill, they not only charged me for all of the text messages I used, but they added on the $15.00 charge for unlimited text usage. Which I was under the assumption as it had told me online that the plan change would begin next billing period (although when I cancelled the internet on it months ago they disconnected that the same night and still charged me for the whole month).

When I called sprint customer care they basically told me I was screwed. I was very nice with the customer care person because it is not her fault and I know customer service is hard to do sometimes, she does not make the rules so it is not her fault. But i tried to explain that I dont get how I can be charged for texts and unlimited texting. I was fine with paying the text messages which was more than the plan change option. I also told them that I was under the understanding that it would start next billing period.

All I got back was "well if you called us we could have done it the correct way". What is the correct way? Should I have sat up until midnight of my ending bill date to activate a phone plan change so it covered it from that point? Over $15.00 Sprint may be losing two long time customers, I was very happy with them up until this point.

I was still even ok with them after the refurbished razor phone they sent me after I was told the sticker in back of my original razor phone near the battery turned red because I dropped it in the water, (my orginal phone started going crazy, would dial some numbers not others, or dial on it's own, the picture and screens were fine and it took incoming calls, and the battery was fine, but it just was not dialing the way it should) which I did not, but I just let it go because I needed a new phone, and now the sticker on the refurbished razor phone and my boyfriends original razor phone has turned red and no water has touched either of them and they are working fine.

So then if something does happen to our phones electronically again not due to our fault, we still have to pay because they say there is water damage because the sticker is red. This is really sneaky of Sprint and unfair. I don't mind paying for what I use, because that is good principle, but it is apparent Sprint does not have good principle.

I am still going to try to talk some sense into Sprint and reason with them, and will update this if it is taken care of, if they are honest enough to refuse to take advantage of $15.00, which I don't even make in 3 hours of work and could go to groceries, then I commend this large company, if they are sneaky bastards and want to take food out of my mouth and my boyfriends and his son's, then great, I will also repost they never rectified the situation. My bill is due February 7th, so we will know by then!
