We purchased this Creative new from an American EBay seller who sells quite a few Creative Zens on 28/02/07. We received it on 7/03/07 and it was obvious that the item was as stated brand new and never open or used.
After six months the unit started freezing and needed the battery removed (as recommended) to fix it. Then eventually it started freezing while booting.

We have tried to go into recovery mode to reload firmware/format however we receive hard disk error messages and the entire unit is inoperable.
So we contacted Creative Labs for information on repair under Warranty in Australia.

Well, they aren't interested at all.

Basically they have fobbed us off, will not accept our purchase receipt and "come up" with a figure that the unit would have come out of warranty on 29 November. How convenient for them!

It has been suggested by Creative that the most economical repair would be for us to purchase another new one - we're not kidding!
We wish to inform others regarding this company's poor products, warranty honouring and even poor humour, as we will certainly never purchase another Creative Labs product based on this experience.

Be warned as this was an expensive mistake on our part to buy this product!
