On dec. 28.2005 we purchased a 20 inch sylvania lcd t.V. From walmart in west union. We paid 397.00 dollars plus tax for this t.V. This was a housewarming gift to ourselves, as this was our first home. Less than two years later our t.V. Picture is out, so are we.
I contacted 310-787-3000, customer service about this and was told it was no longer under warnntey and that it would cost more to fix it than to buy a new one. At this point i ask to speak to a higher up. Don came on the phone and i told him about the t.V. And informed him that our childern are grown and that this t.V. Has set in a built in since it's purchase, there is no way that we caused the problem.
He then said, that their t.V. S don't do this and that i purchased a defected t.V. That unfortunately it was not under warrnety any more. That there is nothing they can do about it. He also said that if i purchased a new car and it broke down out of warrenty i wouldn't get it fixed free either. I guess he has not heard of lemon laws!
I have been trying to reach corpate office to no aveil. Three different people at their office have told me that it will cost more to repair it than to purchase a new one. Now we are on a fixed income as my husband is a disabled vetran and i have health problems we can not afford to replace this t.V. Or have it repaired. So we are just out of luck!
So, as far as i can tell funai corporation - sylvania does not stand behind their products!
