Just like Lisa from Pittsburgh, I sent my scd 6040 Duo Cam to CVE, Inc. At the instructions of a person at Samsung. I told them Pepsi had been spilled on it and he said that it was not under warranty (which I knew) and that it probably would not be able to be repaired but that I would have to pay $160.50 no matter whether it was repaired or replaced. I asked why they would replace it for that and he said that was Samsung's policy. I said, great.
I wrapped it in double plastic bubble wrap and put the transaction # all over the outside (just like Lisa did) and sent it off. No one called me and I called them the next week. After several conversations with CVE and Samsung and after giving them my credit card and paying the $160.50, we determined that it could not be fixed and that CVE had another NEW camera just like mine at their facility and that it would be sent out to me within a few days. Well. That didn't happen!
I called today and no one is owning up to anything they promised me. They now want to return my camera "and" my money. Funny they want to return that too, huh? They made promises and I expect them to keep them. I have so many Samsung products in my home. I'm almost ashamed to say I have any right now. All I expect is what I was promised. I never would have sent it to them if I hadn't been told that I would either get it repaired or replaced for the $160.50. I could have taken it to a camera shop here in Atlanta.
They say they are reviewing this and will call me within 24 - 48 hours but I am not expecting anything other than what I have gotten so far and that is nothing.
I am prepared to do whatever is necessary to get this remedied. If they are not equipped to handle these things as the promised, they should not promise. Looks like they are making a habit of doing this. Hmmmm.
