I had sent my ipod to ipod mechanic. Within a day they tested my ipod and gave me a repair quote of $150. I was torn because buying a new one would have cost me about $250 so I agreed to have them make the repairs that day. It has been over a month and a half since I gave them the approval and I have been given no updates as to their progress. I have emailed them and they keep telling me "one more week." After coming across this site and seeing other consumer experiences I have retracted my authorization and they are mailing back. I really feel they just annoy the consumer to the point they say just keep my ipod and then they go and resell it. I am paying the $15 to ship it back and will look elsewhere for service or purchase. I will be sure to check this site for future purchases.
