The Digital Nerds are the ultimate scammers! Called them up to order the Canon A640 digital camera. When answering, an individual told me to "order on the internet" and then promptly hung up without another word!
I cut them a little slack on that (thinking that they were just perhaps very busy), and then placed an internet order. Within 5 minutes I received a phone call "confirming" my internet order. This individual (and you know the typical scammer's drill on this) proceeds to attempt to sell me a digital card, rechargeable batteries and a battery recharger. I inform this rude and pushy person that I already have those items and thus don't need them.
Then he hits me with the ultimate: do I want the "new" or "refurbished" camera. And naturally the "new" camera costs much more! I immediately point out that their website does NOT list the Canon A640 as a "refurbished" camera, and the scammer replies that "we don't list it as a 'new' camera either."
I then told this poor excuse for a customer service representative to cancel my order if they would not send me a new camera at the advertised price ($230 shipping). And he supposedly did cancel the order. (I later received an email stating that the order was canceled because the item was "not in stock.")
BOTTOM LINE: The Digital Nerds are SCAMMERS, not "nerds, " and you should avoid them like the plague!
