In I had a sprint PCS phone while in school in NY. At the end of my shool in june I paid my last bill and terminated said phone service.
In I applied for a loan and was turned down because of a collection account from sprint. I then paid it off; the amount being exactly that of the last bill i had sent them and thought little more of it.
In about june or so, i get a notification of a $600 collection balance for that old sprint account which i had already closed for the correct amount. I am still dealing with this and am looking for an attorney to remove this from my report.
In all cases, this debt was never pursued, only casually mentioned or left for me to arbitrarily discover. Based on that I question the validity of the original debt.
