Made me pay for return shipping of items I cancelled BEFORE they were shipped ripoff

I purchased a TV from Buy.com on 06/16 while it said online the TV was in stock and would be shipped in 1-2 days. I got a confirmation email for the purchase on 06/16.

On 06/19 I get an email saying "we are experiencing a delay in being able to fulfill one or more items on your order... You can determine if you would like to wait for your items to ship or if you would like to cancel all or part of your order." I went to the website and cancelled the order. The order status now said "cancellation Requested" which according to Buy.com is "A request has been made to cancel this item.

Sometimes items enter the shipping process before we can cancel them. We'll eMail you within 2 to 3 business days to let you know if we can honor your request." I never got an email.

On 06/23 I get an email saying my order was shipped with estimated delivery on 06/30. I called Buy.com and was told to refuse shipment.in the meanwhile I had purchased and already received (!!!) the TV from BeachCamera. (what wonderful service!). The TV from Buy.com was delivered at my work on 06/29/06 before I got to work and so I could not refuse shipment.

I called the rep at Buy.com and he said he could not do anything as the order was already delivered and he did not have proof of my cancellation so I would have to ship the TV back at my own cost. I tried in vain to explain to him that I DID CANCEL the order as per THEIR EMAIL and also called them while the order was enroute intimating them of my cancellation.

Finally I spoke with his manager and got an even worse response. Atleast the rep was polite, but the manager was SO RUDE, like I had commited a crime! She refused to help me and kept repeating the same thing the rep said. Finally she said she would send an email to "corporate" to see if they would consider paying for the return shipment.

On 07/07 I get a response saying "Buy.com only issues pre-paid UPS return shipping labels to our customers if you had been sent a backorder notification prior to your cancellation request being submitted". Well I did get the notification and I still have the email in my mailbox, and I did cancel the TV immediately after seeing that email and BEFORE the TV was shipped!

It cost me $26 to ship the TV back. VERY UNFAIR! The money was not the issue it is a matter of principle and I should not have had to pay for no fault of mine. I paid for a BAD experience and HORRIBLE service. They have lost my business forever and I want to make my experinece and opinion known to as many people as I can so they don't get cheated like I did.
