Good Lord!

This has to be the worst company in the whole world.

We moved into an apartment in November. We called Comcast to install cable in the living room and two bedrooms. Even though we had written permission from the owner of the building, they refused to properly install the cable in the bedrooms. They instead ran cables outside and left them laying across third floor catwalks, and inside the apartment they strung them across closet doors in one room, and in the other, left a piece of cable so short that the box was just hanging from the wall!

It took EIGHT trips and countless phone calls before they managed to get this installed properly in a fashion that was not a danger to life and limb. This was only the beginning of our troubles with Comcast.

Possibly because the main cable box on the back of the apartment building was at all times busted open and looked like a bird's nest of knotted wires, our reception was usually terrible.in twelve months, we had to place over FORTY service calls about this problem. We would get one of three responses. They would either a) show up and not even try to fix the problem, b) show up, fix the problem, and it would be broken again within 24 hours, or c) they would not show up at all, but call into their office and tell them they had showed up and repaired the problem to our satisfaction.

Calling Comcast customer service ought to used as a torture device at Guantanamo Bay! These are the rudest, most unmotivated, stupidest people who ever managed to walk upright and find their way to work. Count on being on hold for at least half an hour, maybe more. They will just tell you anything at all to get you off the phone, because they know when you call back you will get someone else. They are not local so even if they find your missing service man, they don't know where he is. I was constantly lied to, hung up on, even cursed at, because THEY could not get their act together.

When they finally tired of sending entirely untrained idiots out to our apartment who were not able to repair the problem, they simply began to refuse repair service, stating that the cable in the bedrooms did not work because they were UNAUTHORIZED hook-ups. They were? Gee, where did we get those cable boxes? Why were they charging us for it every month if it was unauthorized? Wouldn't that imply someone other than Comcast cable had installed it?

At this time, we simply gave up. And gosh I wish we had done it sooner. We signed up for DirecTV, we now pay only a little more than half of what we were paying Comcast, we get tons more channels, the reception is better, it never requires repairs, and when you call them, they are nice to you. Never ever use Comcast, they do not deserve to stay in business.
