5/15/06 Order placed with CCI Camera City. Order # 6724.
1 Sony HDR-FX1 $1819.00 plus $79.99 Shipping, Total price $1898.99.
5/15/06 Received E Mail from CCI Camera City verifying order at price indicated.
5/17/06 Received E Mail from CCI to call Max @ 1-800-896-2626 X 216 to confirm order.
5/18/06 Called CCI and was informed the camera I ordered was replaced with a newer improved model at slightly more money. Also that the camera did not come with a battery and I would need lens filters. Reluctantly I agreed to order the camera with the assurance it was a better camera than I first ordered. I ordered a battery, lens filters and 5 tapes, with the camera. The new order number was # 922838.
5/19/06 Checked several Web Sights and found the HDR FX1 camera I ordered was still being sold.
5/20/06 Contacted Sony to find out what camera model replaced the HDR-FX1.
I was told the camera was still in production & had not been replaced.
5/23/06 Received package from CCI via UPS at 12:55 PM, a signature was required.
Tracking #1Z 063 1W1 42 5040 4159 Ref # 1:922838.invoice was $3198.59
After inspecting the camera HVR-A1J, I found it different than described and it did come with a battery. Also this camera is advertised on the Internet for much less money than the camera I originally ordered.
Called CCI and told them the camera was unacceptable. They said to try the camera and they would send a Wide Angle lens, camera bag, floodlight and battery charger at no charge.
5/24/06 Package delivered by UPS containing the items listed above. Again I called CCI to complain the camera was not as I wanted I also found it to be a Japanese model that I don't believe should be sold in the United States. The manual and warranty card were all written in Japanese. I called CCI again & they said to try the camera and a manual and necessary paperwork would be sent. I filed a dispute with MBNA credit card that evening.
5/25/05 Received package from CCI, I believe this was the manual and paperwork, as promised. This package remains unopened.
5/26/06 E Mail received from MBNA confirming the dispute, Reference #0201.
I called MBNA and was told to call the merchant and arrange to have them pick up the camera.
I called CCI and said to pick up the camera and articles sent, I was then told there would be a 10% restocking fee plus the shipping charges for the items sent.
I said I would not pay a restocking fee as they misrepresented the product, also the camera sold for much less even on their own Web sight.
I was then offered a $700.00 discount, which I refused. I was then told they would not take the articles back under any circumstance as I had used the camera and opened the sealed packages.
At no time did I attempt to use the camera, as I could not read the manual and also I would have voided CCI's policy. I believe this is why they kept telling me to try the camera. The camera has been repackaged as received. Also none of the of the sealed boxes have been opened.
