I shipped a mini hi-fi system back to sony for a warranty repair. Sony received the system back on 1/20/06. The warranty is for 1 year and I enclosed a copy of the receipt dated 3/28/05. I had to pay shipping as there are no service centers anywhere in the US besides Texas. Shipping was $40.00. I went to sony.com to check the status of my repair and there is where I saw the estimate of $305.49!
Well first of all, this system new was $189.00. What is up with that? Second, it is still under warranty why was the system just not fixed and returned? I called Sony and talked to Lani. She took the info and transferred me to the work order department. There I spoke to Jen, she took more info and after 20 minutes I was given an event id # and was going to be transferred to the escalation department above her. I got disconnected.
I called back and spoke to Lou. I gave her the event Id and she said it was a hi fi with the model # mhcgx250. That is NOT the one I returned. It is the one my son has and the event # was under his name. I said no I returned mhcgx450. She gave me a new event # and said someone would call me in the next 24 hours. I asked why I couldn't speak to someone then and she said it wasn't possible. Well now I spent another 15 minutes on the phone and no one seems to know what is going on.
I am really upset about the whole thing.
