I did a quick search on a price comparison web site that directed me to MyDV.co.uk to be the cheapest price,

The site looks professional, has a London 0207 telephone number, has a user account system so that you can see your order history, has a online support chat facility for enquiries when things go wrong and has a Geotrust security certificate.

I was so impressed with the price of the camera that I placed an order with MyDV.co.uk on the 19th November for a Canon Ixus I camera. I received a confirmation email as soon as I pressed the confirm payment button.

The cost of the camera was 99 with free postage but they took 102 from my bank. I didn't think anything of it as I thought that the extra was probably some kind of service charge.

I waited 10 days and nothing arrived so I decided to try out the online chat. I pressed the picture and waited for the chat window to appear expecting some special Java applet to start up.

The window appeared and asked for my Name, email and message. I filled in all fields and pressed send. The window disappeared and I received nothing back in my email inbox or any popup windows.

I pressed the chat button again and this time a different window with a Java applet appeared telling me that I was the third in line.

I waited for about 1 hour and suddenly a person called Lisa asked me how she could help.

I gave my order number and asked her when I would receive my camera. She said leave it for 14 days from purchase. I said thank you and signed off. I gave it another 5 days and still nothing arrived.

I went back to the chat button again and the old non Java box appeared. I sent another message via this box and nothing came back as usual. I decided to ring the London 0207 number that is listed on the web site. This is when I started to get suspicious as I heard the ring tone and it sounded like I was ringing overseas. I was right, a voicemail with an American accent was telling me that this mailbox is full and it cannot receive any more messages and hung up. I tried the number again a few hours later and the same thing happened.

I spoke to a friend and he said to look on google for the MyDV web site and see what it comes back with. I found numerous amounts of web sites and news boards telling me to stay away from this company. This is when the I have been ripped off feeling started.

I rang my bank and asked them to file a report and I asked them to cancel me Debit card as I have also found that they take money after the event without telling you.

Today (7th Dec) I have still received nothing so I decided to try the chat line again.

Here is the conversation that I had with oh, it was Lisa again:

Me: I am currently looking into this legally as it is taking too long to receive. I am having trouble ringing anyone on the 0207 number.
Me: If it has been shipped then I will stop the legal proceedings.
Me: So it is important that I know.
Me: I would like a refund today if it is not already shipped.
Me: Hello, is there anyone there?
Me: You are taking too long to answer!
Lisa: I apologize for the delay. I am very confident about the delivery of your product very shortly.
Me: How do you know?
Me: I have read the bad press on the internet and I have the feeling of being led on.
Me: I want a refund now please.
If you really know that it will arrive soon then I would expect a better response than what you have given me.
Me: If you do not hurry with the refund then I will continue steps with the police
Lisa: I will submit a report to my Order fulfillment department to ensure that your product is delivered at the earliest. You will receive an E-Mail shortly with your DHL tracking number.

Me: You never respond to my emails. The internet is full of bad press. I have lost 100 for a present that was for my wife.

Lisa: I understand. I will have your request flagged in red and send it immediately and will also ask for immediate action.
Me: When will I receive the email with the DHL number on it?
Me: I need to ring them now so that I can track it.
Me: If it is in the post then I will apologise.
Lisa: You will receive it very shortly. I will request to have it sent at the earliest.,
Me: Who is sending it?
Me: Who are you asking?
Me: I have filed a complaint with Barclays and stopped my card thanks to your company.
Me: You cannot answer my question about who is sending the email!
Me: Are they sending it now? I am still watching my inbox. I would appreciate it if you could stay here whilst I wait for the email.
Me: Still nothing yet!
Lisa: It will take some time Mr. Me. I request you to give us some time to complete the formalities.
Me: The problem is that I cannot trust what you are saying and I need a refund.
Me: I am recording this conversation for when I take it further.
Me: I ordered this ages ago. I was told 14 days from order to expect the delivery.
Lisa: I guarantee that your matter has been taken in the highest of priorities. Please give us some time and we will live to your expectations.
Me: That is why I do not trust what you are saying.
Lisa: Is there anything esle?
Me: If you know that there is a tracking number then what is it?
Me: I am not going until I get a refund.
Me: If it turns up then I will send it back.
Me: I want a refund.
Lisa: We do not have access to the tracking number now but will send it to you at the earliest Mr. Me
Lisa: Is there anything elae?
Me: Yes there is something else.
Me: I want a refund now!
Me: Why doesn't anyone answer my emails?
Me: Why is the UK telephone number being redirected to the USA?
Me: Why cant I speak to someone on the phone?
Me: Why cant you give me a tracking number?
Me: Lies, Lies!

Me: I will be using this service continuously until I get my refund!
Me: Stop asking if there is anything else.
Me: I want a refund.
Me: You cannot answer my questions.
Me: Answer the email question at least.
Lisa: You will have to call the customer service to have it done. I request you to call them and give a verbal authorization for the formalities to be completed.
Me: Call on what number. The UK one that goes to nowhere?
Me: What number!
Lisa: THe number is 0207-993-4698.
Me: No answer, mailbox full!
Me: Please dont give me anymore bogus numbers!
Me: That number is useless!!!
Me: The mailbox is full, I have just telephoned it.
Lisa: That is our number. Please call us between 8-9 in the morning and you can get through much quicker.
Me: Come on, you can do better than that. I know what your game is.
Me: Why between 8 and 9?
Me: This response is on the rip off web site. I know about this one.
Me: I want a refund!!!
Lisa: You must understand my position. I am in the chatroom for limited assistance regarding your order. For extensive quiries you will have to call our CS department.
Me: I will be coming back here until I get a refund.
Me: What is the number!
Me: Look, I know that you are paid to fob people off. I know how you work.
Me: Give me a refund and I will go away!

Me: I will be contacting the attorney general of massachusetts if I dont receive an email of the DHL number or a refund within the next 5 minutes.
Me: I will be sending this conversation and all correspondence of other conversations that I have had through this stupid chat site to someone that is not even in an office.
Me: How much do they pay you for fobbing people off?
Me: What is the going rate for lying to people?
Me: My Christmas is ruined because of you people!
Me: You obviously have run out of lies as you have gone quiet?

Me: When am I going to get my money back?
Me: DHL couriers have withdrawn services from MyDV!!!
No more answers were received. Each line above had a space of up to 1 minute wait before the next line.

The www.mydv-ripoff.co.uk web site state that DHL are no longer dealing with MyDV.co.uk but I was told that I was going to receive a tracking number. There is still nothing in my inbox relating to DHL or any tracking numbers.

All I can say is, stay well clear of this site. Do not spend any money with them or you will be very sorry.
