It all started on 29th of November when I was looking for a digital camera on the web. I came across www.mydv.co.uk / (liars) and saw the prices for the camera I was after which was a Sony dsc-s80 it was the cheapest website I could find at 112.99 compared to most places which were charging 70-80 or more.

I then placed an order and received an invoice not long after. It said I should receive my order within 5-10 working days. The date is now 6/12 no camera? I called the company and they said not to worry there is a back log in orders and you will receive it in 3 days. 3 days later no camera so I called again to request my camera and got some women called Sandra she sounded more like Muhammad ali jaffrey lol no way British none of the helpdesk people were. I asked would it be here before xmas she guaranteed it before Christmas as I placed my order before 15th of December. While on the run up till xmas I had many online chats with the company they all guaranteed it before xmas so I thought ok give them more time as it is xmas.

The date is now 23/12 I knew now I was not going to receive my camera so I called again and spoke to some other non British guy calling himself Brian? And he still guaranteed it for xmas which I knew was not possible so I ended the conversation and decided to do a bit of research on the internet about mydv.co.uk

It turns out there an American company but registered under a British domain hence (.co.uk) if I knew they were American at the time I would never have ordered. I then came across this website and saw that there were many people on same boat as me totally let down.

Cutting to the chase I looked at my credit bill and saw that I had been over charged by about 7 and also it was in dollars no mention of this on the website. So I called mydv and asked them to explain themselves they said it's overcharged because of a currency conversion and I mentioned that lots of other people had been treated unfairly by the company he said that was not true and that these people placed orders before the set date bla bla bla.

Here is my advice: Do not order from mydv.co.uk they will rip you off. If you have ordered then I recommend you get a refund asap either from mydv but beware they will try and talk you round by saying sorry for the inconvenience you will receive your order in 5 days Be firm and demand a full refund including the currency charge tell them if they don't your credit card company will, you should receive an email within 2 hours of making the cancellation if not call again and keep pressuring them as they do not always do what you want them to do. If you still don't receive an email call or your credit card company as I am doing right now as well.

I called my credit card company I got cover protection put on my card and told them about my situation they said that if I don't receive a full refund within 7 working days they will contact mydv.co.uk's bank and force the money back

Fingers crossed I hope other people see this and further action is taking against mydv.co.uk pleas stop this terrible company
