Beware Mach Speed. I purchased one of their motherboards in Cincinnati, OH. I was induced to make the purchase by the advertised rebate offer. This company refused a rebate request that was in every aspect valid and correctly prepared. When I pressed them for a reason as to the delay in receving my rebate, they informed me that it was denied because I had not included the correct barcode from the box.
Since I had included every barcode that was printed on the box, there was no mistaking that this was a fraudulent response. I spoke to a few salesmen in the store where I purchased the motherboard and they confirmed that they received numerous complaints from people who had not received their rebates.
No one at the store could identify a case where a customer HAD received the rebate. They would not assist further in the matter, claiming they are not involved in the rebate process. I am now in contact with the Attorney General of Oklahoma and intend to file a fraud complaint against the company. I know it seems petty to do it for only forty dollars, but it is a matter of principle. These guys lie to induce people to buy, then deny a large percentage of rebate forms (if not all at first). Their flimsy lie about a wrong barcode is the most compelling evidence that they are scamming people and hoping they won't bother because of the low dollar amount.
