I decided to go to the mall to purchase a phone. I was walking by the sprint stand, and of course as you walk by they all ask "do you want to purchase a phone?" i went over talked to the guy about different plans etc. He asked me to fill out an application form, so i did. He told me he would run my info. {he did not ask for an id or social sec card nothing.)
He came back to me and said "you had a phone with us and it was charged off, in 2004." i was pissed i told him i had never had a cell phone, and how could this happen? I asked him if he could tell me what was on the application?
He read some address that i had no idea of, and some phone # i had never had. I asked do you have my id on file or my driver lic. #, he said as if it was no big deal oh they didnt ask for it. I asked him why not, he said the girl could have been cute or friendly and it just got over looked! (okay, well now my credit is fuc! Ed because some horney little a* didn't ask for id.{keep in my the idiot i was talking to also didnt ask for my id}anyways.
I called the sprint fraud line they told me they would send a packet, and they did! I had to get all of this proof that i did not reside at that address in and also go get all this stupid paper work notarized, and i had to pay for it.
Now, they are the ones who messed up didn't follow the guidelines and i have to do all the work. B/s, if they trained their employees correctly, then there wouldnt be a problem. So did as they asked me to, i sent everyhting back as told. I called to follow up they told me it would take 1 month for them to investigate and i would be getting a letter in the mail.
2 months went by no response. I called and the lady said, oh yeah we determined it was fraud. I told her so why were phones issued out if no id was present. She said they train their employees very well and it was probably a simple mistake. I was so pissed off, she said they would send me a letter and report to the credit agencies that it was fraud.
Wellllll today is 8/28. It has been 6 months no letter and i looked at my credit report today and they are still on there $650 is a charge off. I went to sprint to get a phone in my dad's name. I told the guy i wanted a phone but in my dad's name. He asked if my dad was with me. I said no but i can sign everything in his name. He said welll okay is there a number i can call him at? He called " my dad" and my dad said okay.
I walked out of there with a new phone and signed my dad's name. No id, nothing! Yeah sprint your employees are well trained! (my dad knew that i did that of course and was not happy with sprint). Beware, they issue phones to people if they are cute without asking for id. They suck!!
