Lets see them try to rebut this.
I purchased an LG 3100 from the walmart connection center for alltel, simply because it stated on the little paper next to phone "downloadable ringtones" Well here is what happened to me.
I searched and searched the internet for sites that carry ringtones for my phone and carrier. Needless to say, they are not there. So I called customer service about it. They said you need mobile web to get the ringtones. Well I said ok. I will get the mobile web.
Let me make this clear to all. I purchased the phone this past june so only a few months old. Any way. I ordered the mobile web and tried and tried to connect to it with no avail. So I called them back and they tested my phone and I wasted minutes on these morons.
Anyway, After all the BS the guy tells me that my software in my phone needs to be updated and That I would have to drive 45 miles eaither way to have it updated. Well I don't have the means to get there. And I told them this. I also emailed them about my dilemma and they didn't help there either. They didn't offer me an updated phone with no charge, and with the false advertising they give with this one, they should have. All they ever have to say is we are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
Well it caused more then that. It caused me precious minutes talking to stupid people that shouldn't be in customer service. The $30 I paid for this crap phone that is capable of doing nothing.
NOW! The LG 3100 is listed at walmart as a free phone with a contract. Well stay clear of this phone, cause even if it says it is capable of downloadable ringtones. It is not. Trust me.
Before you get any cell phone, paid or free talk to the agent, get it all in writing, and I don't mean just the contract. Anything they promise for the features too. This could be helpful in a future lawsuit. Which at this point I hope someone files a class action law suit against them and teach them a lesson, a heavy one!
