Hard drive crashed 2 weeks ago, video cam internal mic not working. I have a 4 year in-home-repair accidental damage extended warranty. I've been asked to return the laptop for a 7-10 day turnaround to repair the video cam internal mic failures. I've asked to refund the extended warranty given you've not upheld even having a guy TRY coming out with the parts to repair this.
2 weeks ago or so, my machine wouldn't turn on, and I'm still awaiting a 24-48 hour call back. Meanwhile I had my hard drive replaced by a local computer shop for $300.
Within the last 1.5 weeks I've been asking to have a refund given for the useless extended warranty given its $400 price, and 2 "managers" have said they will, but neither HAS issued the refund.
EITHER a machine that works fully (purchased in March) OR a refund of the warranty will work for me. Let me know. (Unfortunately what I know at this point will happen, is just my unhappiness at HP, this AFTER trusting them to be good machines good warranties, after working with HP laptops for 7 years at a professional services firm, alas.
