Scam Artists - Equipment Works but definitely a scam! Universal City (San Antonio)

Alright... Add me to list of dumba*es who have fallen for this ridiculous scam. Can't believe I bought it. Scenario is similar to just about everyone else's.

Filling up my truck at a Tetco gas station in Universal City. These guys drive up in a slate blue Ford Expedition all excited about some extra speakers they have. It was 3 white guys (I know I should put anglo or caucasion but they don't deserve the political correctness of that), one with a buzz cut and gnarly teeth (driver), one with short bleached hair, stud peircing through his bottom lip, and one guy who just sat in the back seat wearing a jacket and baseball cap.

Anyway, they pull up and the driver is all excited giving me the song and dance that they just picked up an order and they received another set of speakers they weren't charged for. They wanted to try to get rid of them before they met up with their boss in 15 min. Pulled one out of the box and showed it to me, showed me the legit brochure they had showing they were $1500 a piece, and gave me the whole song and dance. They initially asked for $600 and I said no way on that one. Called my wife and she said no... While on the phone, the guys actually put the speakers in my truck! They said $400 and I said no. Got in my truck and was actually ready to leave and they approached me one more time, this time basically saying they'd give them away.

Here's where I got in trouble. I didn't listen to my wife and actually went into the ATM and gave the freakin guy $300. As soon as I drove away, I was already kickin my own a*. I called information to look up this "WorldWide Audio", shocker, doesn't exist. Looked up Audiofile on the internet and found all of these wonderful reviews and reports.

The only good news is that the speakers did actually work and weren't half bad. They actually sounded pretty good... Definitely not $1500 a piece good or enough to make me feel good about the fact that I was suckered into this purchase. So make sure you guys look out for these and if you see them... Tell them thanks for me!
