I have had the following conversations with a associate selling the Identity Theft Shield. I am not sure how they can call it sheild when it does not shield or stop anything from happening.
Here are some quotes from e-mail recieved from this associate with my rebuttals. All information can be researched at either the a website (all the associate websites are the same);

Q: "As of Sept there were over 10 million reported cases of Identity Theft in the United States alone for 2002 as reported by the FTC"
A: "Actually if you would read the report and other documents on the FTC you would find that there were no more than 300,000 reports to the FTC (also known as a complaint) where the report comes up with 10 million I am not sure. But the report was done by an outside company not by the FTC themselves."
Q"You continue doing your survey's of less the 1/2 of one percent of the total victims and try to conclude something one way or another you are just setting yourself up to also be a victim..."
A: The survey that I told you about was the one your company used for their information. So I suppose your company is setting you up to be a victim by using results of a survey that only uses 1/2 of one percent of the total victims. I think that Troy Allen would laugh at your fuzzy vision of what reality is.
Q: "No one does what these tow companies do... No one in North America"
A: Maybe you forgot your carrots or something for dinner and you are low on remembering anything at all there. But there are other companies giving Credit Monitoring and restoral service.

You can get a credit report any time you want it and if you find a problem on the credit side of identity theft, that the companies will give you your money back once the investigation is complete and prove that it was not you..." - "What about Criminal activity? What about when they find out you have a drivers license in 3 other states after you open a file?"
A: Actually no other IDT is reported to you through the Experian services other than changed information reported by existing creditors and also new accounts. New accounts that are being reported by the lenders. Driver records are not reported by the DMV's to Experian at all. To change your license in Michigan you can get this form here http://www.michigan. Gov/documents/ed-109pg_16088_7. Pdf then mail it to them. You will not get a license but a sticker for your license in the mail not a new card. To get a new card issued you must have a birth certificate and show up at the office to take your picture. If you have a card on file they will figure out it was not you. As far as Name usage when someone uses your name as an alias for a crime. Well again I tell you that there is no copyright on your name it is up to the police and law enforcement to stop pursuing you as being the wrong Joe.
Q: "Back taxes for a job you never worked at..."
A: When you file your taxes and the IRS finds that you have some extra income that another employer is reporting for your SSN and name then I am sure the IRS will start asking questions you will have to fill out some affidavit and the IRS officers will be investigating away.

ME - So what does immediate mean? I thought investigations might take time still. Meaning you still have to wait to have someone sort out your trouble. Does this plan pre-empt identity theft from happening? The way I see it is that this theft occurs then there is a time before you find out, a reaction time and a time for process which includes police and other company investigations to confirm things and also get your information back to normal. This process is not immediate it takes some time. So what is it that is immediate?

There was a debate about if equifax reporting your DMV record changes to you or having them being reported to you and that a benifit of the plan was you would be notified and that Kroll World Wide had direct access to the DMV to monitor it 24 hours 7 days a week. After talking to Troy Allen VP at Kroll I was told this is not true but if you want I can post here many e-mails about this great debat.
Point is people reading I hope you will find that some associates have no clue of what they are selling. Don't buy something that is not offered.
