In order to receive a ceritification in neonatal resuscitation, one must pass an online exam which is administered through Healthstream. The testing process is set up in a way that a person must pass each section (5 total) with a passing grade of 80%. There are two attempts to pass each section. If the grade is below 80%, the entire exam must be repeated. This testing website is the ONLY way to get an NRP certification.
If someone was not successful at passing an individual section, the entire test would have to be repeated. The exam is designed to be taken over and over again which in the end could cost in excess of the cost $480.00 per section or more than $2400.00. The cost of the testing for each attempt is only $24.00 which appears very affordable. But the testing process is a loop that in the end, could cost alot more. There isn't anybody at any office that can clarify a test question and no way to review missed questions until after the sections and exam have been passed.
I intend on filing a claim with the Attorney Generals Office. I believe that this is an unfair and costly testing process.
