I was called on my cell about a credit card offer. They said they would give me a Mastercard with a $2400.00 limit. For a processing fee of $299.00.
I gave them the information they requested. I specifically asked if this was a real credit card and not a catalog card or a repair kit. They said yes it was a Mastercard.
They told me it would take 21 business days to process. So, I waited the 21 days. When I still didn't receive anything, I called them back.
They then told me it takes 4-6 weeks to process. At that point I started looking on the internet for information about them. And thats how I found usacomplaints.com.
Well, I called them back & told them I wanted my money back. They told me I couldn't get a refund till I returned the package. I told them I hadn't received anyhting from them.
They said they would get it right out to me & then I could return it. Its been another month since then. And I still haven't received anything.
After they told me I couldn't get a refund, I went to the bank (CCB) to file a fraudlant claim. The representative filled out a claim & sent it off.
I waited a few weeks and I didn't hear anything from the bank so I called. The representative called to checked & they had told him he had sent it to the wrong place. So, my claim sat down at the wrong branch for a month without noone knowing. Talk about miscommunication!
So, I had to go file another report last week. I got the reply back today & it essentail said I was neglient with my account info so they were denying my claim.
So, now I have written rip-off to see what help they can offer me.
My advice after this never do anyhting over the phone that has to do with giving out personal information.
