My son's submission to this company garnered him a reply from one "Lavender Aurora, [you've got to be kidding! ] Poetry Editor, a letter stating that "after careful consideration" his poem had been selected as a semi-finalist. Strange how these type of things work. The contestant always seems to have to enter a fee, buy a book, is invited to enter more poems that are "guaranteed" inclusion in the book you buy (who cares if anyone read them or not).
What a deal! As a "contributing poet" he can buy "Great Poems of the Western World" for ONLY $39.95. Puh-leese! I get tired of people trying to take advantage of other people. My son is a gifted writer and I am extremely annoyed that this company tried to play upon his natural desire for recognition of that talent.
