My first clue to these transactions was when I downloaded my checking account transactions the morning of 8/18/04. I did not recognized nor had I authorized them.
I do recall a phone call a few weeks before trying to sell me a sales package; I asked how they were going to get the money and was informed that they had on record my debit/credit account information.
I refused their offer politely, and adamantly said that that card was a debit card and I did not wish it to be use for a recurring charge. They persisted on using other methods of payment, I finally stop being polite and ended the conversation.
I can't really be sure if the people on the phone are the same ones that drafted my account. But I had to close my checking account and open a new one, just to stop these charges, which meant calling all my creditors and depositors to change information.
