High pressure recruiting, I told them no twice, claim of 95% placement rate passed me in classes I should have failed

About 2.5 years back I surfed through the schools web site and checked a box for more information about the school. Several months later Joe Harris from the school called and I accepted an invitation to visit the school. After the visit I said I would think it over, I was told some of the schools had up to a 95% placement rate and was painted a rosy picture, I was about to turn 50 and was frustrated with trucking and thought it would be nice if I could do it but realistically did not think it was for me and did not call back.

The next day Mr. Harris called me and put on the sales pitch again and I politely declined. Two days after that he called again and asked if I had given it more thought and touted the opportunities the program would offer, once more I declined. But I guess I let him get into my head and unfortunately the next day gathered my G.E.D. And went up to the school and enrolled, MY FAULT.

Early into the term I found the Problem Solving (math) class to be a bit overwhelming and expressed my concerns to the admininistrator and wanted to politely bow out of the program, but was encouraged to stay and think about what I was going to do with my degree when I finished, so I stayed. The math only got tougher for me and only with the help of another student who essentially let me copy homework I slogged along although my exam results proved I was not learning the work, but somehow ended up with a C in the class.

The following term I had College Math 1 which was even tougher for me and again through copying homework I struggled through the class and scored a D which I did not merit. Now to College Math 2, which I was abyssmal with and the teacher justifiably failed me, to which a conference was arranged with the dean and instructor who was persuaded to let me retake a quiz in the library. I went to the library the following week to take the test but it was not left with the librarian and I was promoted anyway.

By now I was feeling lost in all of this and was having trouble with other classes and remember having a problem with one of the Lab procedures in my Active Directory class and went to the instructor to request assistance and was told to "figure it out" the same instructor that blew through final lab exams without even taking them, everyone was getting A's. Now I am finishing my seventh quarter and am just burned out on all of this. I took an IQ test awhile back and scored 120, which surprised me so I really do not understand my difficulty with learning.

Earlier during the program I went through a mild nervous breakdown and was seeing a therapist for awhile, I did leave school quite early as a kid, and do not have much discipline for academic work. I am sure if I only had one math class to learn I could probably get it. Now I view my situation as a bit depressing because I am incurring all of this debt and do not feel I am adequate for employment in the computer networking field. I feel the school is partially culpable in two areas, first for not ceding to my first decline for enrollment, when I said no the first time my decision should have been respected instead of turning up the pressure, the second is for promoting me without merit.

It is clear that the school is only interested in advancing it's own profits and cares less about the quality of it's graduates, but if the student is not placed why should it make any difference to them, they can encourage anyone to stay.incidentally I believe the placement statistics were probably misrepresented.
