I found the listing for an APPLE POWERBOOK using common internet searches that led me to a "sweet deal." $2,500 system going for only $1,000. So I wrote the individual asking for details and got a heartfelt pitch that it was a gift from a now ex-husband etc. Etc. And that we could work the transaction using none other than ESCROW-SD.com
Oh, yes if you are reading this you can see all the other articles. Go ahead and do a search for this escrow service firm and you will find it on the "suspect" list of fraud based companies.
The kicker was a listing on www.KitCars.com with a message board where an individual was selling a car and used the exact verbage as my laptop seller. Check out the story from the KitCars site:
"I received this car as a gift from my HUSBAND (actually my Ex-husband), it is hard to say much but I will say that he was cheating on me, but that is where I will leave it.
I want to forget about him and I am starting by selling the car I received from him... And I want to get rid of it fast... That is why I am selling it so cheap."
Replace "car" with "laptop" and that was the start of the email reply that I received.
Nice Cut & Paste job. Plagerism is still alive.
