I had purchase a Maytag Dishwasher in 11 for $470.00, and paid CASH. I was told at that time I would be entitled to a $59.00 Maytag installation rebate and a $25.00 Lowe's gift certificate. First, Lowe's never showed up on the scheduled installation day and when I called the store in Visalia, CA from which I bought it from they couldn't give me an answer.
Apparently Lowe's is such a cheap store, they have to outsource all of their employees and don't keep tabs on what they do, since technically they don't have an obligation to the actual Lowe's store.
Four days later some "men" finally showed up and installed the appliance. Then I sent in for the rebate. I sent in my original receipt on 12-9-03, as the deadline for postage was 12-12-03. The first status call was made in April. I was told it wasn't on file, ofcourse. I was told by the rep that it could be faxed to their department. I sent in the information again to the fax number given.
I then called again in May. Of course, it wasn't received. I was told it was because there wasn't a cover sheet on the fax. Bull #$%*. Ultimately I ended up sending the information certified mail in May. Which requires a human signature.
I called again today 6-22-04 and was told it wasn't on file. I had to use some foul language to get a supervisor on the phone and not a person programmed to say the same thing over and over again. The supervisor informed me they don't have any rebate amount information because they weren't employed by Lowe's just an outsource center which happens to process their rebates. I guess she thought that would excuse the pitiful customer service. Think again. After a heated conversation she tried to pass on the 8-12 wk line to me for the 4th time.
I wasn't taking that as acceptable. This company has my cash, and I want what was promised. She gave me submission ID numbers to check online status, whic I didn't need as she had just entered them herself. She promised w / 100% confidence they would be here in 10-14 business days. We will see.
I have notified everyone I know not to buy anything from Lowe's. Their store doesn't even have loyal employees who give a damn about their customer's satisfaction. The store is just a lie. I will never buy there again. I advise anyone who buys anything there, don't be sucked in by rebates. They're just a fraud with a nice price tag.
