Long Term Disability ripoff

I became disabled after five years work for IBM. I was told that I had Long Term Disability Insurance with MetLife.

I have several compressions of the spine and had a three tier surgery with 8 screws in my neck. The pain has never left, but the chances of being a quadraplegic have been lessoned.

I have herniated disks in the thoriac and lumbar regions of my spine. I cannot sit for more than 15 minutes at a time and I cannot move my neck between the phone and the computer for 8 hours. I also have bone spurs on the spine, arthritis of the spine as well as all the other joints. My doctors have said over and over I cannot work, but no attention is paid to that. They have a Dr. Minetto that states I can work even though he has never seen me.

I have been declared disabled by Social Security and have been receiving their benefits of $1,84.00 per month. I did receive the one year medical at full pay that was listed in my benefit package. I have not been able to get anything from MetLife.

I have gone through several attorneys who somehow just disappear when they hear MetLife. No attorney will get involved because there is no money for them. I am sure MetLife has arranged all of this to their benefit and people are just left with no chance to be able to pay their bills.

I am very close to bankruptcy because the $2,500. Per month MetLife owes me for 8 months now is not coming and there is no relief in site. I am filing in Federal Court myself, but I don't hold out much hope.

How can these insurance companies keep cheating and cheating and nothing is ever done to them.

This is not the american way
