My daughter at the time was a freshman at Arlington Senior High School. She was sent to Arlington due to the large number of students on the waiting list to get into Central High School. As weeks went by, my daughter enrolled in ROTC, Badminton and other activities at Arlington therefore she decided to stay at Arlington once her waiting number came about at Central. Two weeks after she turned her spot down at Central, the St. Paul School Board decides to shut down Arlington.
We then resubmitted placement forms to the St. Paul Placement Center to get my daughter into Central for her Sophomore year. As her freshman year came to an end, we still had no response from the placement center. During the summer of 2010 I was consistently harassing the Placement center as to where my child was going to go to school the following year. They then sent out a letter stating that my daughter was to go to Como Senior High (no offense to Como as a school). My daughter never even thought to have had Como as a last resort so she insisted that I keep calling the placement center. As a pathetic excuse to get me off their behinds, they told me that I need to stop calling them and that my daughter will NOT get into Central because we do not live in their school district. Regardless, I made a point to the center that they have officially ruined my daughters high school experience by making stupid decisions to fund unnecessary schools, therefore my child did not get to go to the school of her choice. I specifically told the placement center that should my child decide to drop out or not be fully satisfied with their choice, they (the center) need not bring any issues to my attention. So it is now March, and I am now being notified that my child will be reported to Ramsey county due to her attendence (and regardless of attendence my child is still a "B" honor roll student). They need to deal with Ramsey county and not me for they screwed my daughters education up from day one!
