Like many others I have had a problem with Newport News credit card. My problem began as far as i can tell in July, i did not recieve a statement so i mailed a payment to the address on the old statements i had. Since i had phoned in some payments before i used an old statement. It came back in the mail, So i called Newport News cataloge customer service for a current address, I mailed the payment.
I was charged late fees and a over the limit etc. I sent them a letter stating it was their foulup. I got no response. I sent in Aug. Bill from a statement that had a new account number of which i had not been notified of the change, I sent in a minimun payment not the latefees. Why shouuld i pay for their foulup. I sent a new letter off. No reponse, payment not credited or check cashed.
In Sept. I recieved my statement with over the limit fees etc. I again mailed in a minimum payment and a letter complaining about there services. I recieved a form letter telling me that i had to pay all outstanding fees before they would even look at my compliant.
Same in Oct. And nov.
I have recieved phone calls from there "offic" in according the the caller id new Jersey. They told me they do not have a Customer SErvices manager that i can talk to.
I refuse to pay the fees they have charged. They fouled up it is there fault no mine.
I just get a ruined credit report because i will not pay for what is not my fault.
