I was under my tiny 250 credit limit, when FCNB stopped allowing Speigal and Newport News customers to use their credit cards. I was never late a single payment. They started billing me late. No matter how quickly I payed the bills the $35.00 fees started to appear on my bill. Then over the limit fees. When you try to call them there is only a recording. When you write to them it takes many weeks for them to write back. They tell you you can dispute the charges. When I did they told me they never recieved my first letter. I wrote again. Several months and several hundreds of dollars later I even offered to settle on what is now over a $600 bill of what is clearly 1/3 bogus fees. They wrote back one month later saying no. Now they call me to harrass me on the phone too. They told me they won't settle unless and I quote " it goes to collections or I have to file bankrupty".
This is a horrible scam and I don't know what to do. I don't want this on my credit. Everyone who has this issue needs to speak up!
