DeVryUniversity and all of it's entities is nothing more than a gantic Federal aidaomeba an award eating vacuole, and like a cartel feels that they hold the keysto the federal aid bank. Like a cartel if you challenge them they will resortto intimidations by using their professors to make sure you fail courses andhave to pay to retake them or better yet use their staffed counselors tosuggest classed that you do not need to used up your award money and preventyou from graduating.
Theuniversity's misconduct have been documented and reported to a few otheragencies. One, Levy Phillips Konigsberg's Office at 800 3rd Ave New York, NY10022-7651 on Feb, 04 2010. But after reviewing the documentation I was told bytheir office that they didn't handle this type complaint and to report myconcerns to the US Department of Education, the Inspector General's Office orthe Office of Accreditation. I also reported my concerns online to the BBB inChicago because, that is where the DeVry University's headquarters is locatedand the online BBB complaint service here in Georgia in late February.
Mycomplaint is the misappropriation of government funding by DeVry University andit's staff. After requesting and reviewing detailed documentation of my awardsrecords from both my lender Sallie Mae and DeVry University's accountingdepartments, I found inaccuracies in the university's accounting. Beginning in 2007to present they stated that I received $16,836.46 in refunds that I did notreceive. When I addressed my concerns to the University in Georgia and thecorporate headquarters in Chicago I was told that this amount had beendisbursed to my checking account. However I have bank statements that disprovestheir claims. I also noticed severalother charges that are inconsistent with the records that Devry universityprovided to me. I requested a meeting with the director of finance Mrs LouchaSimon P 404-270-2743 at the Decatur campus on Sept 14,15th and again on the24th with nor results. I then make the same request to the president, Mr. ChrisChavez of the Georgia chapter of DeVry University P 404-270-2718, the Corporateescalation director of student affairs, Mrs Kathy Harmon at 3005 HighlandParkway Downers Grove, IL 60515 P: 630.515.2474 and the Dean at 100 GalleriaPkwy. S.E. Ste. 100 Atlanta, GA 30339 P: 770.916.3712 at Cobb Galleria locationMrs. Norma Marquez, more than a month ago on Sept 24th no resolution. Ifeel that they are denying me the financial information that should be providedand explained to me; also I feel that I have not been given a sufficient opportunity to rectify this situation at thelocal level. This type of behavior is unacceptable. I am requesting informationon how to further investigate this matter and what steps I can take to presentthe evidence I have accumulated to the proper authorities. FYI I hvae attended two seperate universities and my debt was only $ 34,000 but thanks to the Devry University my debt for student loans have skyrocketed to over $ 81,000 which in my opinion is just criminal. I could have had a Harvard Elite education for more than $56,000.
