Clayton College of Natural Health (CCNH) closed without warning this summer. The online school, first established in 1980, has stranded hundreds if not thousands of students and robbed them of their degrees and tuition. Calls to the college are not answered and emails are immediately returned as undeliverable. The Alabama Department of Post Secondary Education is aware of the situation and has advised students to request a refund from the school via certified mail. Otherwise, they will post information regarding the closed institution on www.accs.cc.
Students are intent on filing a class action lawsuit. As they are a large group of distance learners there is difficulty banding together. Students have a Facebook group called "Burned by Clayton College?" and have also logged complaints on websites such as.
We hope this posting will attract the attention of consumer advocates and legal advisors who can help us proceed with a class action suit. This writer lost $6000 in prepaid tuition. However, just 200 students who each lost $5000 already brings the total theft to $1,000, 000! We must be able to recoup this money!!
