I am an adult woman 45 years of age. I had phoned the Vici Aveda Institute in Madison WI. I spoke to an admission rep Lisa. As we were engaged in conversation. I asked her to send me out information to read and look over. She said that is not how they do it. She was rude and had an attitude with me. She told me they have to see me. And approve me into their school. I had mentioned in conversation my age. She tells me she has to see if I will fit in. I said. At my age? She said. "Her Younger Students. Seem to do better then the older ones do. She told me the beauty industry is about looks... And age. And its just the way it is. I left messages with Penny Rushing. No return calls. I email her about this. Age discrimination and lack of respect. I received not one email from the CEO. Penny Rushing. I then get a phone call from a regional customer relations person. She wanted to meet with me. Never apologized. And told me this woman was told. At that point. I was turned off. I wanted to go back to them. But was astounded by their Unprofessional manner. I should have phoned a lawyer. But was not sure. It would do me any good. I wanted to go to this school because of the reputation. Or so called. But. I didn't want further age discrimination issues or harassment because of my age. I feared going to this school. I decided to contact the school recently. Hoping the administrator was no longer there. I did not receive one email back. I found no direct emails for Penny Rushing. I finally found her on Face Book. I sent her a message. About my emails being ignored and she was ignoring mine as well.
