If you feel like it, dont be alarmed, the feeling is correct, youre just a number. Once you enroll you are just another dollar sign. If you were not just a number, this greedy university would staff its campuses properly in order to service you adequately.instead, they run their campus with the minimum amount of staff possible for as long as possible. One the campus grows to a certain extent (the right numbers), they may higher one or two people. But it will not be in areas that affect you as a current student. They will hire more admissions reps (used car salesmen basically) before they buy more toilet paper. Its very lucrative at Strayer University to be part of Admissions. You can earn 60k a year starting within six months if you play your cards right. Two terms of bringing em in and closing the deal and you can be a Campus Director. Speaking of which the campus Directors are useless, they are merely senior admissions managers put in authority to ensure that the numbers keep rolling in, other than that, they do nothing what so ever but collect a check and harass you when you dont want to attend their school anymore. The faculty and staff carry the entire burden of running the campus, but their focus is still pushed primarily in the direction of new and continuing numbers. Everyone from the Dean to the financial aid office, are driven by the Campus Director to maintain these numbers. Thats why if you request to withdraw, you will be given a very hard time, and sometimes you may not even be withdrawn. Why are your transcripts not evaluated, because its not important enough. Why is your financial aid award not here yet, because its not important. Why does you personal problem not matter, its because it doesnt. Basically put, the people who should be doing those things are busy trying to find and keep people in the seats. This university is run by its admissions culture point blank. I hope the dept of ed catches you. The staff and the faculty are some of the hardest working people you will find. But since they are driven by thieves and liars, their talents are wasted. Sad, a great place, with good people, being used and abused by some of the most disgusting individuals you will ever meet. All of this trickles down to the students so dont be surprised when you get less than stellar service. The upper echelon talks a big game about customer service, but in the end, all that matters are the numbers. So if you can lie and sleep good at night, hit Strayer up, theyre looking for a few good liars, butt kissers and yes men/women. They fit your life alright, right into their pockets.
